We've been recording "backing tracks" (Drums, Bass Guitar, Sax and Keyboards) to use during our performances. While using backing tracks is not a new idea, using recordings of real drums and other instruments is not something used often. Most backing tracks used by acoustic groups are recorded by using computer based drum machines. We however wanted the sound and feel of a real band behind us. These new tracks will help us to bring the sound of a full band to all our performances. We'd like to thank our friends Jimmy Harte and Jerry Giguere for coming by and laying down drums tracks to our songs. We're looking forward to trying these new songs out on you at our next gig!

Matt and Darren will be performing in a new Berkshire based band called CRUSH on Saturday, November 27th at the Itam Lodge in Pittsfield, Massachusetts for a Thanksgiving Weekend Bash from 9pm to 1am. The band will be playing danceable hits by bands such as Third Eye Blind, Green Day, David Bowie, Cheap Trick, Tom Petty, Thin Lizzy, The Hollies, Van Morrison, The Ramones, AC/DC, Sublime, The Killers, Deep Purple, Billy Idol and more danceable hits!

We're perfoming at the biggest, baddest beer fest in the Berkshires this Saturday (October 2nd)!! It's the Third Annual Pittsfield BerktoberFest!! Just $30 at the gate includes 10 free beer samples with any beer after your first 10 (can you really drink that much?!) will be just $1 each. ALL proceeds go to Downtown Inc. and the Elizabeth Freeman Center. If you're going to drink you may as well drink beer for charity! We (Satellite Shine) will be performing from 12pm to 2pm and Billy Keane & The Misdemeanor Outlaws will close out the day.

Enjoy a selection of beers from brewers such as Cape Ann, BBC, Barrington Brewery, Clown Shoes, Blue Hills, the always popular home brews from Berkshire Home Brew Supply, Wandering star, People's Pint, Wachusett and more! Come out for a night of great music this Friday night (Sept. 17th) and pay tribute to our good friend and well known local musician Jamie Bugley (from the bands Wishful Thinking and Balance) who passed away this past summer. We will open the night with a short acoustic set performing some of Jamie's favorite songs. We will then join members of Jamie's former bands, Wishful Thinking and Balance for some great music to get you up on your feet. We will also be joined by some of the Berkshires finest musicians and bands including SM!LE, Evan Rude & the Motors, Legacy, Dave Vittone of Friction, Gina Coleman of Misty Blues, Tom Ingersoll, and Kip Beacco.

Jamie spent his life entertaining everyone with his boundless energy, off the wall sense of humor and his amazing drumming and singing abilities. Please come out and share your love and support for his family and friends. All proceeds from the night will go to creating a local music scholarship in Jamie's name. The event will be held from 8:30pm to 12:30am at The Stockbridge Sportsman Club in Stockbridge, MA., located on Rt. 102, 24 Stockbridge Road in West Stockbridge, MA.

We have just been asked to perform every Friday night in August at Fresco's (Pittsfield, MA), outside on their beautiful outdoor patio. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to stop out for a bite to eat, a cold drink, good friends and live music outdoors! It's the perfect place to start your weekend off right. We'll be playing from 7pm to 10pm with no cover charge. We hope you'll stop out!

We've got a great week of gigs lined up this 4th of July weekend! Thursday the 1st we'll be at The Press Box in Pittsfield, MA from 9pm to Midnight, Friday the 2nd we'll be at The Milltown Tavern in Dalton, MA from 9pm to Midnight, and on Saturday and Sunday July 3rd & 4th we'll be playing out on the huge sundeck for an outdoor BBQ at the foot of Bromely Ski Resort in Peru, VT from 1pm to 4pm. Our songs posted on our MySpace site are getting a ton of plays with all 4 songs getting well over 40,000 plays with our version of Michael Jackson's Bille Jean leading the pack with over 25,000 plays and our version of Led Zeppelin's Thank You getting over 13,000 plays, amazing!

We're happy to say that we just completed our 5 song demo tonight at Derek Recording Studios in Dalton, MA. We recorded these songs to have a CD that would represent us as we sound live so that we can send them out to new venues we are trying to book for fall and winter. All five songs were recorded live in the studio. We decided to pick 5 songs that seem to get the most reaction from people at our gigs. Although we didn't record this CD to sell, we posted all 5 songs in their entirety so that we could share them with you. You can play them in the audio player to your right. We hope you'll enjoy them!

Recording Notes: Thanks to Greg Steele at Derek Studios for all of his hard work, and for letting me sing and record Ain't No Sunshine with his vintage 1946 RCA 44BX microphone, it sounded sweet! (my Birthday is in February if you were wondering, hint, hint!). It was a pleasure working with you again Greg! The nature sounds heard in Ain't No Sunshine were added by Darren in his home studio after recording a Berkshire rainstorm with 2 condenser microphones.
